The Juniors Cup
A WSDC themed tournament targeted at junior speakers.
The Juniors Cup is a beginner friendly debate tournament in the World Schools Debate Championship (WSDC) format, with interesting yet approachable resolutions in an environment promoting feedback and growth. With this competition, WoLCE hopes to bridge borders in bringing an amazing experience to young aspiring speakers in a thought-provoking debate format.
There will be 3 preliminary rounds where all teams will compete in the same pool followed by a concurrent junior, middle and senior finals, where the top 2 teams in each division will face off in the finals.
Dates: 18th May 2024
Platform: Zoom and Discord
Eligibility: School students between the age of 7-18
Speakers aged 7-12 are considered juniors
Speakers aged 13-15 are considered middle school
Speakers aged 16-18 are considered high school (seniors)
Format: Junior World Schools Debate Championship Format (3-5 speakers per team, 4 minute speeches, 3 minute replies with POIs between the 1st and 3rd minute, 30 minutes prep without internet access)
Registration Fee: RM 120 per participant
Adjudicator rule: N=1, each team will have to pay for an adjudicator slot
